Favorite things.....

Vintage Needlepoint Chair

This pretty little chair was destined to be "mine".
I was visiting my fav antiques shop, had purchased several things and was on my way out......  when.....  stop!  turn around....  what's that in the corner?  I could see the lovely pink needlepoint peeking out.  I uncovered it and fell in love.... but, unfortunately I'd spent all my money and had to walk away.
This shop is my favorite but it's also far away (almost 90 miles).  I just knew the chair would be gone by the time I could return.  Life happens and a few months had passed before I could visit again.
I remember walking in.... looking in the same spot as before and to my disappointment ....  it was gone.  I had accepted the fact that I had missed out.
Then suddenly... it appeared!  I couldn't believe it!  90 miles and three months later....  Sold!....  for a mere $24!
It has become one of my favorite pieces.  It's so shabby chic and the best part is....  I didn't have to do a thing to it!  I love the chippy white paint and the fabulous pink needlepoint cushion.  So perfectly....  imperfect.
I've used it in the living room, on the porch and now in my bedroom.  I just love it!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
Elizabeth

Happy Easter!

This is my favorite Easter wreath!
I have several different ones and made a new one this year.... but, this one is still my fav.
I made it last year and just love it.  It is a wire wreath with little coiled rings that hold the hand painted eggs.  It is adorned with velvet millinery flowers I removed from an old hat.
So pretty and perfectly shabby chic.
The decorations, egg baskets and chocolate bunnies are so wonderful.... but, for me and my family... Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  A time to thank God for our many blessings.....  and this Easter I have SO much to be thankful for!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful
and
Happy Easter!!

Blessings,
Elizabeth
