Easter Sunday ~ The Lord's Prayer

The Lords's Prayer

Our Father
which art in heaven, hallowed be
Thy name.  Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power,
and the glory, forever.
Amen

Thank you, Lord.....  for your son Jesus.
I wish everyone a blessed Easter.
Warmly,
Elizabeth

Easter Wreath ~ Home Sweet Home

 Easter Wreath

Home Sweet Home.
I love a welcoming front door......  especially for the holidays.
I made this cute Easter wreath using vintage flowers and little wooden eggs.
I found the wire base at the crafts store several years ago.  It has a rusted patina and six little coiled egg holders.  I painted the little wooden eggs with craft paint.  After letting them dry thoroughly....  I scuffed them up a bit with sand paper to give them an aged look.....  then hot glued them into the egg holders.  I used simple silk flowers from the crafts store and added vintage velvet pansies.  I found the velvet pansies many years ago at the flea market.  They are so soft and sweet.  Just perfect for my wreath.
I love how it turned out!  So shabby chic.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! ~ Handmade Pretties

Happy Easter!

A few Easter goodies to share.
The floral Easter eggs are decoupaged and rolled in a layer of  clear glass glitter.  To make your own......  paint little wooden eggs with two coats of white craft paint, let dry.  Using a thin layer of decoupage glue add  little roses cut from floral paper napkins.  Let dry completely.  Add a layer of thinned white glue all over and roll in clear glass glitter.
The egg in the nest was also decoupaged.  Made with strips torn from old book pages, little roses cut from a paper napkin and rolled in glass glitter.
I love my hand painted ceramic bunnies.
I love to give handmade goodies whenever possible.  These will make wonderful Easter gifts this year.

Happy SPRING!

I can hardly believe it's officially Spring.
The first day of Spring was Wednesday, March 20th.
We got a foot of snow over the weekend!
When I look outside........  it's snowy, gloomy and very cold.  I can't remember when we've had this much snow....  in the month of March!!
I can hardly wait for warm, sunny weather!  Can't wait to plant spring flowers and start working in the garden.  I want to plant more hollyhocks, roses, hydrangeas and peonies this year.
I plan to add climbing roses to my arbour and lay a brick pathway that leads to my shed (my little house in the backyard).
I have big plans......  but, looks like a few more weeks of "dreaming".

Happy Spring!

2nd Annual Dress Form Ball ~ The Polka Dot Closet

The
2nd Annual

What a wonderful idea!  A Dress Form Ball!
How fun!

I love my dress forms, busts and mannequins.
I love dressing them up.....  it's like playing with big girl dolls.
I have a large collection of vintage party dresses, hats and rhinestone jewellery   It's soooooo hard to decide what to wear!
I like my Wolf dress forms the best.  They are beautiful and fun to dress up.  I have a few very special ones.  I love the antique one with the expanding skirt.  You turn the crank and the skirt expands into a hoop shape....  for dresses like in Gone With the Wind.  The child size bust form from France was a rare find.

Pop over and visit Carol to see all the pretty girls!

French Flowers ~ I Could Write A Sonnet

 French Glass Beaded Flowers

I love vintage glass beaded flowers.
The vendor that I purchased these from said they were from France.
I pick them up whenever I find them.
They can be used in many different ways and are a wonderful addition to my vintage chic home.
They remind me that Spring is almost here!

Have a wonderful week!

Roses & Lace

Pink Lace Shoe Inserts

I love vintage ballet shoes and have a large collection.
They make lovely, very feminine display pieces.  Hang them in a group, hang a single pair on a bedroom door, sit a pair on a stool or on a vintage bed.  So many ways to use them.
Because most all of mine are old........  I like to use inserts to help them retain their shape.
I made these from vintage floral fabric, lace and little ribbonwork roses.  I filled them with dried rose potpourri.  They give my boudoir a wonderful fragrance.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
