Ruffles and Lace ~ Happy White Wednesday

My Spring pillow collection.
Handmade with lots of ruffles and fabric roses.
Scrumptious!
I think the pink rose ones are in need of a little "something".  I'll make some fabric flowers and use vintage rhinestones or pearls for the centers..... that will dress them up a bit.
Happy White Wednesday!

Pink Iris & Vintage Bling! ~ Pink Saturday

Pink.....
Pink is my favorite color and in "every" room in my house.  I would probably drive a pink car if I could find one!  LOL.  I love vintage vanity collectibles and have an extensive collection.  They are so beautiful and so feminine.  I love to look at them and try to use them in my decorating whenever possible.  They make such pretty displays.
Thought I would share some of my pretties.  This is one of my favorite perfume bottles....  because it's none other than....  Pink!  Made by Iris and from the 1940's.  I found this awesome pink rhinestone belt buckle at a local flea market.  It's huge! with lot's of sparkle.  I'm a sucker for vintage pearl and rhinestone compacts and lipsticks.  I got lucky and found a complete set.... and in mint condition.
What a pretty vignette.

Linking this week with PINK Saturday!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Furrrrr Fabulous!! ~ Vintage 1950's Fur Hat

My latest vintage find......
I was visiting my favorite antiques shop last week " The White Rabbit" in Clinton and found this gorgeous 1950's fur hat.  It's still so fluffy and soft.  Mint condition with the label still in tact.  I added the vintage rhinestone pin for a bit of bling.  It's furrrrrr fabulous!!

Handmade Valentine Wishes for YOU!

From my personal collection..... a few of my prettiest hand made vintage "heart" shaped pillows.  They are so beautiful.  The hand work is amazing!  They don't make 'em like they used to.
Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Final Touches..... my room is complete

My living room is finally complete.  Freshened up and put back together.
I used an old wooden trunk for a coffee table.  I painted it pink....  then white.  I distressed the finish so the pink "peeks" through.  I then hand painted roses on the top and little rose buds on the side.  It is a very sturdy (and heavy) old piece.  I store all of my decorating and "How To" books inside.  I found this awesome old wooden serving tray at the flea market.  It has  hand painted roses on the inside.  It was the perfect size to hold my vintage collectibles.  The last few pictures was taken before I hung the drapes.  The room looks so pretty.  I am so lucky to get to live with all the things I love.

All Dressed Up..... vintage floor lamp

I shared in a previous post......  that I had picked up this old floor lamp at the flea market for $12.  It didn't work or have a shade.  My hubby re-wired it and I made a shabby chic shade for it.  I decided it needed a little help.  It looked so plain.  I added some beaded fringe to the shade and dressed it up by adding a beautiful, old, lace scarf and a vintage celluloid pin.  It's just what it needed.  From plain Jane to Cinderella.

The stem of the lamp has the most beautiful pink and yellow porcelain roses.  I haven't decided whether or not to paint the lamp a creamy white or leave it alone (keeping the pink and yellow roses in tact).  What do YOU think??  I would love your comments and feedback.

Happy Monday!
Have a great week!

Vintage Chintz - Finishing Touches

I have been working on my living room for the past couple of weeks.  Re-painting, re-arranging, making new pillows and hanging drapes.
I found these beautiful vintage chintz drapes at an antiques store some time ago.  They are gorgeous!  They have the perfect amount of yellow and "pink" to bring the room together.  Previously they were hanging alone.  For a change.....  I hung pink silk drapes in the middle and vintage lace sheers in the center.  My sweet hubby hung the new rods and the vintage tie backs.  They look so beautiful together.  I love those moments when things come together even better than expected.
I've got to add the accessories and......   I'm done!!

It's raining and cloudy outside.... so my pictures aren't that great.  Maybe I can take better ones when the sun returns.

Have a great weekend!
